4/7 Game On X YMCA Summer Tennis Day 1

All the kids came with boundless energy throughout the first session of our summer program. Seeing them grow to love and be so excited for our favourite sport brought us so much joy. Today was the official kickoff of our 2026 summer program! To match the kids' incredible enthusiasm, we introduced brand-new drills and games designed to be as engaging as possible. Guiding them through these activities and providing one-on-one coaching was a fantastic experience for our volunteers, giving us a meaningful opportunity to nurture the next generation. Some students were even able to maintain a great rally already, which made all of us incredibly proud!

Today, we focused on making the session as engaging as possible through interactive exercises. Guiding the kids through these drills and teaching them individually was a great learning experience for me and it definitely taught me to be more patient. For instance, I corrected a kid’s grip position and they immediately hit a better quality shot. Watching them learn makes me feel like I’m helping nurture the next generation. It was an incredibly rewarding and fulfilling day!
